Bridging Narratives: “War on Education” Premiere

In the shadow of conflict and chaos, there exists a narrative often overlooked—the narrative of education under siege. As the world grapples with the ramifications of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, one aspect remains tragically unexplored: the systematic targeting of Ukrainian educational institutions and the suppression of Ukrainian identity.

In the face of this deafening silence, a ray of hope emerges with the global premiere of "War on Education." Directed by Stefano di Pietro, this compelling film delves deep into the heart of Ukraine's struggle, shedding light on a dimension of the conflict too often relegated to the sidelines. Amidst the chaos lies a sinister agenda—an agenda that seeks to dismantle the very foundation of Ukrainian identity through the erasure of its educational institutions. And yet within the devastation, there shines hope—the resilience of the Ukrainian people. Their unwavering determination to preserve their identity and safeguard their future stands as a testament to the power of unity in the face of adversity. Through "War on Education," their story finds a voice, urging the world to bear witness to their struggle and stand in solidarity against oppression.

The global premiere of "War on Education" on February 24th, 2024, marks a pivotal moment in the fight for truth and justice. From Amsterdam to Kyiv, from Brussels to Milan a shared story that demands to be heard—a story that transcends borders and speaks to the universal struggle for freedom and dignity.

Amsterdam premiere of this film was held at Moving Arts Centre Amsterdam (MACA) on the 24th of February, observing 2 years since the invasion started. It was followed by an insightful Q&A session with director Stefano di Pietro together with Steven Stegers.

I couldn’t be more proud of my friend Stefano who poured his hard work, long hours and his heart into this project and I can’t see this important film reach as many people as possible.
