AKA, Embracing the Joy of Life: Seeing the World with Fresh Eyes

Marking yet another trip around the sun I really wanted to open up on the importance of balancing professional, personal and everything in between. I did spend some good time reflecting on the monumental moments and especially standing on a verge of a new era for me.

Life is a journey filled with countless wonders and opportunities for growth. As we navigate through its twists and turns, we often get accustomed to our daily routines and surroundings, causing us to overlook the beauty surrounding us. However, by cultivating a mindset of gratitude and embracing new perspectives, we can rediscover the joy of life.

"The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes." - Marcel Proust

However I do not underestimate the value and the need for the new landscapes as much as I enjoy approaching the ordinary with a sense of curiosity and wonder, we open ourselves up to the richness of life's experiences. And this time I really knew what I wanted to do - explore something as simple and static as a park of wooden sculptures with people so close to my soul. I wanted to dive into culture, history and child-like wonder. So we went to see also the tallest wooden sculpture in the world which is also speaking of an old myth and a fable of Eglė Žalčių Karalienė, which still to this day doesn’t stop surprising me with the complexity of the layers and importance of symbology, lore and archetypes.

"We don't see things as they are; we see them as we are." - Anaïs Nin

I often need to remind myself that perceptions are shaped by our experiences, beliefs, and emotions. When we consciously work on improving ourselves and letting go of biases, we can start seeing the world more accurately and empathetically. Which also means reading the same fairy tale again and again looking for new aspects and creating new contexts for it.

Life is a precious gift, and each day offers us a chance to embrace its joys and marvels. By approaching familiar things with new eyes, we can rekindle our appreciation for life's wonders. So let this serve as a reminder to let us endeavour to see the world with the curiosity of a child and the wisdom of experience, as we dance through the journey of life, cherishing every moment along the way. So, let's embark on this journey of discovery, for it is in seeing the world with fresh eyes that we truly find the joy of life.
